COVID-19: Results

How long do COVID-19 test results take?

Results will be available within 48-72 hours from the time samples are received at our laboratory.

 

How will I receive my COVID-19test results?

If your kit was purchased directly from our website, results will be sent to you via the email provided in your medical questionnaire.

If you purchased or received your kit from a secondary provider, such as a pharmacy, physician, employer, or school, please check with them to determine how results will be made available.

 

What will my COVID-19 test results tell me?

The results of this test will tell you if you are infected with COVID-19 at the time of sample collection.

 

What does a positive COVID-19 test result mean?

If you test positive for COVID-19, you were infected at the time the sample was collected. Precautionary measures should be taken to prevent the spread of disease until you are no longer positive.

 

What does a negative COVID-19 test result mean?

If you test negative for COVID-19, you likely were not infected at the time your sample was collected. However, that does not mean you will not get sick. The test result only means that you did not have any detectable active SARS-CoV-2 at the time of sample collection.

 

What does an inconclusiveCOVID-19 test result mean?

An inconclusive result occurs when the laboratory cannot definitively state whether the SARS-CoV-2 was detected. If you are concerned about your symptoms, you can consult with the physician network that approved your test and/or re-order a new test.

 

Does Phosphorus report their COVID-19 test results to government agencies?

As required by law, Phosphorus reports both positive and negative results to the appropriate state public health authorities in which the individual testing resides.
